Hello Friends!

Hello 南榮!

I was looking through my documents on my computer and came across this letter that I had written for the 2012 graduating class.  I thought I would post it on here for you all to have.

我非常想念您們!  I hope that one day I will have the opportunity to once again visit Taiwan and all of you at Nan Jung Junior High School.

Sincerely,

Kyle 歐駿逸

Graduation Letter Summer 2012:

Dear 2012 Graduating Class of Nan Jung Junior High School,

Congratulations on finishing Junior High!

These last three years here at Nan Jung have been such an amazing experience. It has been such an honor serving at the English Village, and I am sad to say that I won’t be returning to Nan Jung this next semester. I will be attending a Bible discipleship training program back in the States. I am very sad to leave, but excited to see what new adventures lie ahead. I will miss Nan Jung very much. I will miss the staff. I will miss the students.

Walking through the school, hearing your joyous laughter, and being greeted by so many enthusiastic waves and “hellos” are some of the many memories of my time here in Taiwan that I will cherish forever. I have learned so much from working here and I am so thankful for you and the school for allowing us to be a part of this wonderful program.

Students, as you begin this next chapter of your life, you are going to face some hard questions. What school are you going to go to? What does your future look like? What kind of career do you want to have? These are tough questions to answer, and sometimes, it may even be a bit scary to think about. I want you to know that you don’t have to worry or be afraid. There is Someone who can give you the answers to those questions. There is Someone who can help you discover your future. His name is Jesus Christ. Jesus, the creator of heaven and earth knows all about you. He created you. He knows your thoughts. He knows what you like. He knows what you don’t like. He knows your strengths and your weaknesses. He loves you so much and wants what’s best for you. He has a plan for you.

Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

This was so true in my life. Three years ago, I didn't know what my plans were or what my future held. I had no vision, no purpose. But as I begin to trust God with my life and with my plans, He began to show me where to go. He began to give me a purpose and a vision. He eventually brought me here to Taiwan to teach at Nan Jung where I have had the best three years of my life. When I decided to trust God with my plans, He opened the door to so many wonderful adventures that I never imagined myself doing. Trusting in God’s plan gave me a hope. It gave me a purpose in life. I have direction, peace, and joy. I love life and I know I have a wonderful future.

God wants the same for you. He loves you so much that He sent His only son to die on the cross so that we could have life forever. He died so that we could have hope. He died so that you and I could have a future.

I would like to pray for all of you and ask God to reveal His plan for your lives as you get ready to take the next step.

Dear Heavenly Father,
I thank you for the three years that you have given me to work at Nan Jung. I thank You for all the wonderful students that attend this school. They have been such a blessing in my life and I am so grateful that You, God, called me on such an amazing adventure. God, I want to lift up the graduating class to you now. As these students move onto the next phase of their life, they are going to begin to have to answer some pretty tough and scary questions. God, I thank you for your faithfulness. I thank You that you have everything under control. I thank You that You have the answer to all of life’s questions. You say in Your Word that if we trust in You, You will direct our steps. God, I pray that these students would trust in You as they step out into the unknown. I pray that these students would look to You for direction. God, I pray that You would show yourself to these students. I ask that You would reveal to each of these students Your plans that You have for them. Show them how much You love them. Be with these students dear Father. Bless them. Guide them. Protect them. Provide for them. Teach them. Build them into mighty soldiers of your kingdom.

Lord, I thank You that You love us. I thank You that You sent Your only son to this earth to die for us so that we may have life and have it abundantly.

God, I pray a prayer of blessing over these students. Bless them with Your wisdom, Your love, Your creativity, Your initiative, Your responsibility, Your courage, Your grace, and Your power.

It’s in the name of the One who gave us life, Jesus Christ, that we pray,

Amen!

So Long, Farewell

Wow. 7 months ago, I first stepped foot in the Pingtung Nan Jung English Village. Now, on April 2nd, 2012, I look back on our time here and am amazed at the providence of God.

Almost all of us have had a birthday here, found new friends, had some struggles, lost some arguments, won some hearts, and touched lives.

Taiwan has been a place of growth and joy, and it was not without tears that most of us declined another year here.  All of us seek to follow Christ’s direction for our life, and for only one of us is this next year in Taiwan a certainty.  Nan Jung, we will miss you so much, but we look forward to making the most of these next three months we have here.

I’m not sure where to end this post but on an unwritten sigh and a slight drooping of the shoulders.

Only three months left of some of the best months of our lives.
Thank you, Nan Jung.

Thailand!

Hello Everyone!

For two weeks in January, we had the blessed opportunity to join several other of our IBLP TESOL teachers with King Car Education Foundation on a trip to Thailand! We visited the beautiful areas of Chiang Rai and Maesai, as well as the Golden Triangle, the Opium Museum, etc. Our favorite part of the trip, however, was getting to teach for six days at DaTong school in the mountains! We loved playing with the kids and the staff were so hospitable! What an incredible time the Lord blessed us with!

Here are some pictures from the trip. We hope you enjoy them! Happy Belated Chinese New Year!

A Few Words and Pictures

Hello everyone!

We know it’s been quite a while since we last posted, and for that we are truly sorry. Our schedules have been super busy, and we’re SO grateful to have a week or so off before we head off to teach in Thailand!

After that, we’ll jump into two winter camps and then the new semester starts! We are excited and cannot wait to see what amazing opportunities God will further reveal to us.

And to end off this short post: Merry Extremely Belated Christmas, Happy Belated New Year, and Happy Early Chinese New Year! Here are some Christmas pictures from our team to you! :D

Today, 38 students from an elementary school visited the English Village! They had a lot of fun with Kyle, Alex, Aaron, and Camellia! Each student went through four different classes, including: airport, cooking, photography, and game!

Here are some pictures of their day:
